I'm a Gamer. I design and study gameful experiences and digital games for the last fifteen years. A Doer, Thinker, Lecturer and Mentor. I'm a Chief Happiness Engineer, founder at juloot interactive gamification, empowering enterprise and startups with gameful design and gaming tech.
I lecture on Gamification for Brands, Organizations and Educational Systems, and on the intersection of Gaming, Communication and Culture at IDC – The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya and at Tel-Aviv University. I deliver Gameful Design Workshops and mentor C.S students on game apps and virtual reality/ augmented reality development projects at Afeka Academic College of Engineering Tel -Aviv, and at Weizmann Institute of Science. In addition,For Ono Academic College I've developed a new academic course entitled: Virtual Reality Technologies, Gaming, and Gamification (2017). I've lectured and mentored my MBA Major in Advertising students at the Faculty of Business Administration. Moreover, I serve as a Business Mentor for Startups at the Inno-Negev Technology Accelerator, Lead by Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Hi-Tech Management, of the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business & Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and BGN Technologies (Ben-Gurion University’s technology company).
A former researcher and lecturer at the Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art (2010-2013), in which I served as the academic Manager of the Shenkar's Virtual Reality Lab in SecondLife (2010-2011). A Former lecturer at The Instructional System Technologies development, H.I.T- Holon Institute of Technology. Prior, I've managed the Tel-Aviv University's Human Interactions Lab in which I've mentored fellow PhD and M.A students on using computerized tools for analyzing complex interactions.
I hold a Ph.D. degree in the Learning Sciences and a Magna Cum Laude M.A. degree in Science Education, both from Tel-Aviv University. A former post doctorate fellow researcher at LIRT Lab, The Caesarea Edmond Benjamin de Rothschild Foundation Institute for Interdisciplinary Applications of Computer Science (C.R.I.), University of Haifa. Prior to my academic career, I served at the I.D.F as an instructional design expert. I was on the Association of Virtual Worlds' Advisory Board, and currently I'm on the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Gaming and Computer-Mediated Simulations. Since 2007 I lead the Digital Games Research Association [DiGRA] ISRAEL Chapter and manage its facebook and LinkedIn group. Connect with me via LinkedIn for updates.
